As an Indian-American, I grew up with yoga philosophy as shared by my culture. I was first intrigued with movement and body mechanics when performing Indian classical Bharatanatyam dance. I practiced yoga regularly as an adult working a traditional day job, and eventually, it became my profession.
I have been sharing yoga practices for over 15+ years in varied settings, initially as a yoga instructor for classes and later as a yoga therapist and educator who works with both groups and individuals.
I am a graduate of Maryland University of Integrative Health's Yoga Therapy Master of Science program and a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists as C-IAYT and ERYT-500 with Yoga Alliance. In addition, I completed a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Ayurvedic Wellness Practices at the Maryland University of Integrative Health.
I currently work with patients with cancer and their caregivers at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. I teach courses at the Pratt Institute, Maryland University of Integrative Health, and NYU.
